Our precollege programs give high school students the opportunity to explore advanced ideas, deepen their voice, and get a real feel for college-level work, all while earning college credit in the process.
The Early Childhood Center provides a thoughtful, progressive curriculum for children ages 2 through 6 in preschool and kindergarten. Its programs are modeled on the Sarah Lawrence pedagogy, and it provides a setting for observation and research for Sarah Lawrence College students interested in child development and teaching.
The Center for the Urban River at Beczak (CURB), located on the shores of the Hudson River in downtown Yonkers, is Sarah Lawrence's first academic research facility beyond the main campus. Its mission is to advance environmental knowledge and stewardship by serving as a welcoming open community space for a variety of civic and cultural activities, providing high quality K-12 environmental education for the local community, and establishing a regional hub for research and monitoring focused on Hudson River estuary and urban watershed issues.
Through its outreach to teachers, parents, administrators, community coalitions, and others committed to facilitating the growth of healthy, creative children, the Child Development Institute communicates a progressive educational philosophy and provides a forum for the discussion of issues related to children, childhood, and education.
Sarah Lawrence College is an ideal location for meetings, conferences, parties, receptions, and other events. Located on 44 wooded acres in southern Westchester County, the campus is reminiscent of an English Tudor village, yet features state-of-the-art facilities, modern amenities, and is in close proximity to New York City.
Sarah Lawrence students can be a valuable resource if you are looking to fill a local, part-time job (these often include babysitter, tutor, retail associate, and much more).
