Pre-Law Advising offers a variety of seminars, workshops, and panels to provide insight into the work of lawyers and the demands of a legal career, legal education, and anticipating law school. Receive individual counseling and access group meetings with programming that focuses on the law school admission process and the field of law in general. The pre-law advisers provide a full range of information and counseling to help you plan your legal career.
Pre-Requisites and Recommended Classes
The feedback Sarah Lawrence students receive most from law schools is the value of our liberal arts education. In addition to courses such as International Law and Human Rights, it is incredibly important that students take full advantage of our interdisciplinary curriculum, immersing themselves in a range of subjects from dance to literature and economics.
Sample Orientations, Workshops, Guest Speakers, and Other Programs
Each year, the Pre-Law advisers offer a diverse array of programming from informational sessions, a panel of law school admissions directors, and networking with alumni attorneys and fellow pre-law students. Students also regularly complete internships at The Legal Aid Society, Human Rights Watch, Brennan Center for Justice, and firms such as Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, LLP.
