Post a Job or Internship
We use Handshake, an online database, to share opportunities with students and recent graduates. It is free for employers to create an account, post opportunities and choose the colleges to view your opportunities. Please note that the College is not responsible for any student’s compliance with an employer’s own COVID-19 related policies. The student is responsible for their own compliance with your [employer] specific requirements and policies.
Below are the log in instructions to create your free employer account, and then post your opportunities.
Step 1: Clink on this link to create your user account: Handshake
Step 2: Connect to your company profile if they are already on Handshake. Your company profile should pull up based on the domain of your email address if it is already in Handshake. If it isn’t, you will see the option to create a new company profile.
Step 3: Request to connect with schools. Make sure you check Sarah Lawrence College. You will then receive an email from us “approving” you to post with us.
Step 4: You will now be able to post internships and jobs.
If you have difficulty with any of these steps, click on the links below, or contact us.

Important Considerations Before You Hire an Unpaid Intern
An internship is a well-supervised, pre-professional work experience closely related to a career, academic, or personal interest. In addition to enabling students to explore possible career paths, it also allows students to acquire new skills, define career goals, and network for future job opportunities.
Employers decide whether or not to offer internships as paid or unpaid, credit or noncredit. If an employer requires credit for an internship, students can earn academic credit via fieldwork or the internship practicum course, through the Office of the Dean of Studies.
We highly encouraged all employers to familiarize themselves with both federal and state Department of Labor Legal Guidelines. Unpaid internships must meet specific requirements, per the following links:
