In an interview in The New York Times, Naima Penniman ’03 discusses the documentary “Farming While Black”, which follows Penniman, her sister Leah, and their Soul Fire Farm. Soul Fire Farm is “an Afro-Indigenous community farm on Mohican lands in upstate New York,” Penniman explains in the interview. “We grow an abundance of food and medicine that we distribute at no cost to our community. We’re also a training farm, and we teach thousands of people every year how to farm regeneratively.”
“Farming While Black” will be screened at Seed Brklyn on Saturday, April 20, at 6 p.m.
