With much appreciation, Sarah Lawrence celebrates five esteemed faculty members who are retiring at the end of this academic year.
Michael Davis (Philosophy faculty since 1977), Joseph Forte (Art History since 1978), Priscilla Murolo ’80 (History and Women’s History faculty since 1988), Barbara Schecter ’74 (Psychology and Child Development faculty since 1985), and Charles Zerner (Environmental Studies faculty since 2000) have all left a meaningful and lasting impression on the College, their colleagues, and most especially the many students they have educated and mentored throughout their decades of dedicated service to Sarah Lawrence.
A celebration was held at the President's House on May 4 in honor of this year’s retiring faculty, as well as faculty who retired in 2021 and 2020. These faculty members were: Bella Brodzki, Isabel de Sena, Jan Drucker, and Michael Spano in 2021, and Chet Biscardi, Gary Burnley, Dan Hurlin, Sandra Robinson, and Joan Silber in 2020.
Raising a glass to all of the retirees, President Cristle Collins Judd said, “Thank you for all you have done for this College, and all I know you will continue to do, as our students, your colleagues, and our alumni value you so much."
All members of the Sarah Lawrence community, alumni, and friends are encouraged to share their well-wishes our retiring—and recently retired!—faculty on our Kudoboard.
