Come explore the Early Childhood Center (ECC) at Sarah Lawrence College and have some fun in the process!
The ECC offers a play-based, progressive education for preschoolers and kindergarteners ages 2-6. Our experienced teachers, knowledgeable in child development and early childhood education, respond to each child’s interests and capabilities, recognizing and building upon children’s individual strengths. We are committed to helping children reach their full potential in a safe and supportive setting.
See if the ECC is right for your family at this special event, during which we'll hold a Community Adventure Play Experience (CAPE). CAPEs allow children to create their own play experience using cardboard boxes, recyclables, fabric, a variety of loose parts, and found objects. Children are encouraged to use their imaginations and the materials to collaborate and test out ideas. Through unstructured free play, cardboard boxes become spaceships, club houses, pirate ships and more.
This event is designed for children 2-5 years old, but all siblings are welcome! Early Childhood Center staff will be on hand to speak to families about the ECC's philosophy and programs, and to offer a tour of our facilities.
In case of rain the CAPE will be cancelled, but the ECC tour will still be offered from 11-1.
This event is free and open to the public.
Please park in the Kober Parking Lot (enter 12 Wilgarth Road in your GPS). The Early Childhood Center is the building on the right as you enter the parking lot, directly across from the Campbell Sports Center.
