Join Dr. Heather Davis, Assistant Professor of Culture and Media at the New School for an exploration of the way plastic has transformed the material world due to its longevity and range, and has transformed our understandings and expectations of matter and materiality. This event is the first in our series presented by “The Sarah Lawrence Interdisciplinary Collaborative on the Environment”. Heather Davis is the co-editor of Art in the Anthropocene: Encounters Among Aesthetics, Politics, Environments and Epistemologies and editor of Desire Change: Contemporary Feminist Art in Canada. Her current book project re-examines materiality in relation to plastic.
This talk is sponsored by the Dr. Lee MacCormick Edwards Charitable Foundation and is open to the entire Sarah Lawrence community. A zoom link will be sent to registrants within 24 hours of the event or email virtualevents@sarahlawrence.edu.
