Phil Wiser has received numerous patents for his pioneering work in internet music and television distribution technology. He broke new ground across the areas of IP-based content delivery, machine recommendation systems, video delivery over the Internet, and cybersecurity. Prior to his current position as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Paramount Global, Wiser led the technology and product development transformation at Hearst Corporation, where he managed their technology migration to the cloud and established a data-driven, cloud-first media environment for their digital businesses. He created the digital businesses at Sony Music, including forging the groundbreaking deal to launch iTunes, and redefined the television experience with the first successful television program recommendation technology and the first system to deliver a full cable bundle via Internet delivery at Sezmi Corporation. This event is open to the entire Sarah Lawrence community and the public.

The Child Development Institute facilitates a play program called Community Adventure Play Experience or CAPE. CAPEs provide children the opportunity to create their own play experiences out of recycled materials. Every semester, CDI offers a CAPE series at the Yonkers Riverfront Library which is open to library patrons and the larger community.

Are you interested in becoming an early childhood or K-12 teacher? Please join us for a joint info session with Bard College’s MAT program on Tuesday, November 28th at 7:15pm EST.
The SLC Art of Teaching program has partnered with Bard College to host a joint information session for both SLC and Bard students interested in pursuing a master’s degree in teaching at the early childhood, elementary or secondary level. Through Bard’s MAT degree, SLC graduates can pursue NYS certification to teach grades 7-12 in the following areas: biology, history/social studies, literature/English, mathematics, and Spanish. Through the Art of Teaching program at Sarah Lawrence, students can pursue NYS certification to teach birth to grade 6 general education and birth to grade 2 special ed.
