Sarah Lawrence College offers a combination of merit and need-based scholarships to international citizens. In any given year, anywhere between 30-50% of our international students are scholarship recipients. These funds are highly competitive, so here are several facts international students should know:
- Financial aid forms and requirements, including the free Sarah Lawrence International Student Financial Aid Application, are available between 2-3 business days after submitting the CommonApp, through your SLC Application Account. If you apply on the application deadline date, we recommend you submit the financial aid documents as soon as possible after they are available to you; however, as long as they are received within 10 days of the application deadline there will be no impact on your application for admission and/or financial aid.
- We also require official translated documentation of the family income. This can be tax returns or statements of income from the parent(s)’ employer and bank statements. If the student or parent(s) have no other documentation of income, each must fill out our Non-tax Filer Statement form. This will be made available through the application portal.
- We distribute all of our available funds to those students who apply by the stated deadlines. Students who do not complete the application requirements will be ineligible for funding during their four years at Sarah Lawrence.
- Scholarships are renewed annually, provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress. The amount generally ranges from $10,000 – $25,000 per year.
- We will update an applicants online financial aid checklist if additional documentation is required in order to complete the application.
