In cooperation with New York University’s Silver School of Social Work, Sarah Lawrence College offers a dual degree in Child Development and Social Work.
- Students in this three year program can pursue study leading to a master’s degree in Child Development (MA) and a master's degree in Social Work (MSW).
- The dual degree program must be completed on a full-time basis.
- With faculty guidance, students select courses that are appropriate for transfer credit in both schools.
- Students begin this program with their first year of study and fieldwork at Sarah Lawrence. Their second year is at NYU, pursuing their social work courses and clinical fieldwork. The final year consists of social work courses and clinical fieldwork at NYU and Graduate Seminar and Master’s Thesis at Sarah Lawrence.
A separate application must be completed for each school, and students must be admitted to both schools before they are reviewed for the dual-degree program.
Please be sure to adhere to each school's deadline.
