Teaching the Environment is a place-based professional development program for small groups of teachers and educators in early childhood through high school settings, who are interested in further developing the environmental studies and science components of their work.
This spring session is dedicated to the American eel migration! For this in-person workshop, teachers have a special opportunity to come and learn about the anatomy, life cycle and migration pattern of these fish. Participants will explore 2 methods researchers use to catch and count eels, and analyze what this data is revealing for populations. Optional reflective assignments on pedagogy will be available before and after the workshop.
Bring your own lunch and refillable water bottle! Fridge and microwave are available.
This session is tailored for teachers of grades 6-12 and will be limited to 16 participants.
Registration Fee: $20.00
Sarah Lawrence is an Approved CTLE Sponsor and offers 5 CTLE hours for this program. An additional 2 CTLE hours offered for the optional remote reflective component of the workshop.
