During The Campaign for Sarah Lawrence, hundreds of alumni, friends, and faculty made planned or deferred gifts as a way to support the College while staying within their particular financial parameters and taking advantage of tax-saving opportunities. Planned gifts received by the College during the Campaign totaled over $50 million and included pledges, securities, bequests, retirement fund transfers and designations, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and more.
Legacy gifts make a significant contribution to the future sustainability of the College and play an important role in helping Sarah Lawrence achieve its goals. When received, legacy gifts are often among the largest the College receives, and therefore can have an outsized impact, allowing the school to expand programs, start new initiatives, and more.
Planned gifts of every size make a difference, and we are grateful to the many individuals who included Sarah Lawrence in their estate plans during the course of the Campaign.
"When my financial adviser suggested a smart way to use my IRA, the thought of being a ’grandmother’ for a worthy student in need pleased me no end. What better gift than the privilege of a Sarah Lawrence education?”
