The Sarah Lawrence College Archives is open to the College community as well as to scholars and researchers around the world. The College Archives contains official records, publications, students theses, photographs, memorabilia, artifacts, audio-visual materials, and digital recordings. The College Archives also maintains a collection of faculty papers and other manuscript collections related to the College.
College History
Sarah Lawrence College, founded in 1926, began as a junior college for women offering a two-year diploma. Since its conception, it has evolved into a coeducational liberal arts institution granting both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Collections
The College Archives comprises over 1,100 linear feet of archival material including photographs, audio-visual materials, publications, correspondence, meeting minutes, and other administrative records. Browse through the finding aids, search the Sarah Lawrence Magazine index, and consult the research guides to find information about the academic and administrative history of the College.
Digital Collections
The College Archives maintains several digital collections which are accessible online. Exhibits
Browse virtual exhibits from the College Archives showcasing College presidents, alumni, faculty, and significant events in the College’s history.
