My Environmental Studies classes at Sarah Lawrence College had a significant impact on me as an artist. I focus much of my abstract painting exploration on the relationship between the mind/psyche and both natural and constructed landscapes (including non-physical, social-political landscapes). Theoretically, I aim to create visual experiences that represent how the mind/self and different manifestations of space are inextricably tied, and further that the mind and these ‘spaces’ - whether physical, cultural or as constructs from policy - both inform and shape one another.
