I paint to create a space "to be," a space to reflect on and explore the visual properties of experience that lie outside of specific narrative. My paintings are an amalgam of impressions often gathered during my travels. Currently, I’m working on an artist book focusing on Sevilla. The theme is arcos y esquinas. I simplify and abstract scenes to their bare essentials, utilizing the page spread so that the main image appears on the right energized by elements extending into the left.
