I have a studio in my house in Denver, Colorado and a gallery about an hour away in Central CIty, a territorial gold rush community. The Teller House opened in July 1872 as an opulent hotel and was renovated in the 1930's with the revival of Central City Opera - it now serves as a restaurant and museum. These two 16" x 20" gouache paintings were published as 5" x 7" notecards and same size giclee prints: they depict the foyer and to its right The Face Bar. The face painting on the floor was done as a joke in 1936 by illustrator Herndon Davis and has become a tourist attraction.
