Nebila Oguz is a Turkish American visual artist and animator. Based in Philadelphia, she has spent her life moving back and forth between the United States and Turkey. Having originally studied Sociology and Russian language at Sarah Lawrence, Nebila’s own growth as an artist mirrors the scattered geography of her identity. She most enjoys making comic strips and animations that criticize the inherent absurdity of life under capitalism, combining her observations working the menial jobs that pay rent with her experience as a Turkish American woman struggling to make it as an artist. Art for her is therapy, a way to process the strange and tragic events that make up the day to day.
