Carrie Beckmann Brittenham ’80 has been painting since first studying at SLC with Bill Conlon, and was very influenced by her teachers Marcia Hafif and Ansei Uchima. She lived in Europe for 18 years and has travelled extensively, as well as having participated in several art residencies including Byrdcliffe, Wave Hill Winter Workspace, and BAU Institute in Otranto, Italy. Her work is informed by these experiences, particularly regarding place and landscape, and Beckmann considers herself to be an itinerant painter.
