Nancie Goldstein Schnur ’74 is the owner/performer of Kiddie Kabaret, a musical puppet show for very young children and their grown-ups. She is a member of the Sarah Lawrence College Alumni Association Board of Directors
Why did you choose Sarah Lawrence?
Sarah Lawrence offered me the opportunity to study what I was passionate about as well as to explore new areas in small classes with brilliant teachers. What more could one want?
Did you have a favorite class?
Ilja Wach’s 19th Century Novel class was like an incredibly beautiful door opening onto everything that one needs to know! I was fortunate to also have Ilja as my don and he has been a lifelong friend.
What was your favorite spot on campus?
I love Westlands and the lawns on either side of it but have a special place in my heart for the wisteria arbor in all seasons.
How did Kiddie Kabaret begin?
Kiddie Kabaret, my musical puppet show for young children and their grown-ups, began when I realized I wanted a career that was compatible with my life as a mom with three kids under the age of three. I segued from being a commuting-midtown senior product and package designer for Avon Products, to writing and performing music for children, which allowed me to determine when and how much I worked.
What are you most looking forward to at Reunion 2019?
Always the same thing: seeing old friends and making new ones! I almost always have had the blessing of both reconnecting and making new connections when I attend reunion or any other SLC event!
